Sunday Mornings

Our Sunday meetings are the highlight of our week at Kings, providing an essential focal point for all we do. This page will give you some idea of what to expect when you come.

  • Time: The meeting starts at 10:30am and finishes at 12:15pm (You can stay on afterwards for tea and coffee)

  • Where? We meet at St Thomas of Aquin's High school on Chalmers St, a modern airy building next to the Quartermile development and accessible from the northern edge of the meadows.

  • Transport: Parking is free outside the school on Sundays. There is also a car park behind the school accessible from Lauriston Gardens. There are a number of buses routes in close proximity (Lothian Road).

  • Mobility: for wheelchairs and pushchairs, there is a ramp leading up to the front doors from street level. The Welcome team will be able to assist you with any other practical needs.

  • Size: Currently we gather about 150 adults and 30 kids of all ages

  • Culturally: We have a healthy international membership gathering people from China and the far east, India, Africa, USA, Canada, and other European nations.

  • Worship: is led by a band that is contemporary in style, singing songs from a wide pool of writers such Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, or Hillsongs as well as the occasional traditional hymn! We have an expectation of the Holy Spirit also leading our times through different members of the church participating in the gifts of the Spirit each Sunday.

  • Teaching: is approximately 30 minutes long, followed by some response/ministry time. We put a high value on systematic Bible teaching, interspersed with some topic-focused subjects. We've just finished teaching through the book of Romans. Soon we will start with a new series on the life of David.

  • Children: have their own meetings and activities (see Children/Youth Pages), which begin after the first two worship songs.

Hospitality is part of our way of life at Kings. Sunday Lunch for students and new visitors is regularly hosted at various homes across the city.

Evening receiving and prayer nights take place on alternate Sundays 7-8:30pm at the Kings Centre, see what's on for details.
