What happens for kids at an in-person service at King's

Visiting King’s Kids for the first time

If you have any questions about visiting for the first time the best way to find out more is to contact us.

For safeguarding reasons we ask parents and carers to register their child(ren) at the start of the session. Please make the group leaders aware of any allergy information or special needs your children may have.

If you want to stay with your child while they settle that’s fine, just let the leaders know.

Our Sunday groups

Our King’s Kids groups run during our Sunday morning meetings, starting at around 10.45am. We start with all our age groups joining together for a time of worship. There are lots of actions, dancing and instruments for the kids to engage with. We then split into our groups...
Mighties

Mighties

1-3 years

The Mighties learn about and experience God through play. We therefore have a significant element of free play as well as a cosy story telling corner, where each week we read a Bible story. Every Sunday we offer a craft based on that day's Bible story, and there is an opportunity for the children to discuss and pray. A simple snack of fruit, bread sticks and water is provided.

Supers

Supers

4-6 years

Supers is a mixture of games, play and an opportunity to start engaging with the Bible and Christianity in a more meaningful way through discussion, craft and hands-on activities. A simple snack of fruit, bread sticks and water is provided.

Heroes

Heroes

7-11 years

Heroes love having fun together as they dig deeper into the Bible and explore what living as a Christian looks like. Our team provides them with a variety of creative and focused ways to understand God and their own faith. Heroes don't have a snack provided but are often among the first to get the biscuits from our refreshments tables after the meeting!

Babies and young toddlers

If you have under-1’s or young toddlers who would be happier to stay with a parent, we set aside the foyer at the back of our main auditorium as a space for parents or carers to make use of as you need to.

There is a video link to the service so you can still join in with what’s happening. A Practical Team member will be nearby if you need any assistance.

We ask everyone else to avoid using this area between 11am and the end of the service.

Child Protection and Safeguarding

We want to make sure that your children are safe while they are in our care.

All of the volunteers who serve in your King’s Kids teams are in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups scheme operated by Disclosure Scotland.

Helping families

The Covid-19 crisis has been extremely challenging for kids and families, and we want to help as much as we can. Here are some ways you can make connections with other parents and carers.
