Elders

Meet the guys who lead King’s

The many aspects of church life are shared among a large team of men and women, volunteers and paid staff, but it is the elders who are ultimately responsible to God for the church. This is the team who we believe that God has appointed and empowered to guard and govern the church together.

Dan Hudson

Dan has been involved from the earliest days of King’s. Having originally worked for ten years in engineering consultancy, he gave that up to help build King’s. His responsibilities include leading the eldership team and the overall direction of the church. He is married to Julie who works as a GP and they have four children. Most Saturdays you will find him at Tynecastle with his kids cheering on Hearts FC.

Matthew Clifton-Brown

Matthew loves raising up new leaders, discipleship, planting new churches, photography, and rather ‘out there’ jazz! He brings a prophetic challenge to the team but also has a deep care for people. He led the team that began King’s church in 2002, and prior to that helped plant City Church Newcastle. He also oversaw the planting of King’s Church West Lothian. He is married to Ann and together they have a wealth of pastoral care and experience. They have six children and fourteen grandchildren.

Luke Davydaitis

Luke moved to Edinburgh in 2010 to join the team at King’s. He loves studying and sharing God’s Word to help people realise who God is and who they are in Him. Luke enjoys photography, reading, and watching sport. He is married to Deb, who works as a palliative care doctor. They both spend a lot of their time looking after their two young children and explaining that their surname comes from Lithuania, it is not a disease.

Sandy Deans

Sandy has lived in Edinburgh since 2004 and is an associate in a local architecture practice.  Sandy is passionate about people and seeing them further their relationship with God through King’s, whether that’s connecting through small groups, promoting discipleship or meeting to pray regularly on a Friday morning.  Sandy loves worship and plays drums in one of our Sunday service bands. He’s married to Hannah and is dad to their daughter Rosie.

Chris Rawson

Chris began attending King’s as a history student in 2010 and soon after experienced a revelation of God’s immense love for the local church and its importance in His purposes. He loves helping everyone discover and use their God-given gifts to glorify Him and play their part in building His church. A huge fan of history, sport, and music, Chris is married to Jen and is dad to Amelia. He and Jen love exploring nature, especially through hiking and birdwatching.

Andy Wall

Andy has been part of King’s since 2011. He loves God’s Word and God’s Spirit and takes any chance he can get to dig deep into these wonderful things. Aware of God’s amazing goodness to him, he wants to live for God and follow Him wherever He wants him to go. Andy works as a GP, he is married to Lauren and they have two young sons.
