The Place
Whithaugh Park is a residential centre situated in the unspoilt landscape of the Scottish Borders, surrounded by forests and rivers. It is around two hours’ drive from Edinburgh, located between Hawick and Carlisle.
Accommodation
We have booked the entire site for our exclusive use. Sleeping is in cosy wooden cabins (some bunk beds), and room sizes vary from two to five people. Bathroom facilities are shared between the people in each cabin.
Transport
There is a coach leaving from our building at 4.30pm on Friday afternoon, returning Sunday afternoon.
You’re welcome to drive your own car – please let us know if you have spare spaces and you’re willing to give lifts. Earliest arrival on site is 5pm.
Food
All food will be supplied, and will be served in a marquee to allow us to eat together. We are planning a barbecue as people arrive on Friday afternoon (5pm onwards). Breakfast will be available from 7am each day. On Saturday night there will be a Hog Roast, and vegetarian alternative. We will have lunch together before departing on Sunday.
Fun
On Friday evening, we will be able to chat around tables over a drink (BYOB, if you’d like).
On Saturday afternoon you can choose from the centre’s activities, including swimming, walking, archery, zip wire, and a bouncy castle. (Archery and the zip wire can be booked for additional cost via separate tickets.)
We’re also hoping to have an all-age disco, so bring your dancing shoes.
Meeting with God
We will have times to worship, hear God’s word and respond. These will be on Saturday morning and evening, and Sunday morning.
King’s Kids will also have sessions on Saturday and Sunday morning, and there will be a kid’s cinema on Saturday evening for any kids not in their beds!
